custom lscs client for REST API

Hi,

Has anyone created a custom lscs client to work via the REST API.

I'd lik to configure end points which would execute our custom lscs client capable of doing a little more work. This would be for both index and rules engine clients.

Any pointers appreciated

you can write a simple servlet (a similar black box service), which makes the lscs calls, and give you back the result after further processing.

For example, to read the contents of a document using lscs Rest call.

We cannot directly return the doc content unless we know the document ID, so this servlet will help to get the doc ID every doc tagged with any specific metadata and then the next LSCS Rest call to get its content..

I'm after being able to have access to the requestContext in the custom code. Rather than setting up a proxy to wrap lscs calls. I'm currently looking at the blog spring config in the lscs runtime where end points are configured.

/blog/comment/{id} backed by a custom class. Has anyone done anything like that?

Why do you need access to the requestcontext to call LSCS?

I don't need it. I want access to other data associated with session etc. Or are you saying the request context will not have this?

"other data associated with the session" can be retrieved from the HttpServletRequest.

The LiveSite RequestContext only makes sense in the context of a LiveSite request, and in such cases you should already have it. It does NOT make sense in any other context, be it a web service request or some custom servlet you've created.

Hi,

You do get a request context though for lscs requests. If I could work out how to create a custom end point I could test what is actually avaliable. Customer profile and livesite session for example. However I'm struggling to be able to inject my own end point in the spring configs of the lscs web app. Their does seem to a be a custom blog which might guide the way but I can't really see how I'd achieve this.

Has anyone done anything like injecting a newe lscs end point which uses their own custom classes ?

LSCS and I'm not hopeful of anything being available now. Although I've not managed to create a custom lscs end point yet.

A reluctant alternative is to Use LSDS to return in effect a page with an external to make the LSCS call seems the only option. I was trying to avoid getting LSDS resources etc involved. Is it possible to create a LSDS end point which does not go through the entire page render ?
