Impersonation Failure / PT Compile error.

TS 7.4.1 / W2k8 / new install, copy over data from old servers.

- on screen message is "An error occured during PT Compiling. Please seemore details in log files"

-getting this message in IWTrace.log when trying to "generate" a form from templatedata. (i added the X's in user)

All users get this error and message (whether TS Master or not). only user who can successfully "Generate" is a user that is in that servers local admin group, and that admin group has a local policy > log on locally.

I have read extensively in this forum and implemented just about all changes i could find, to no success.

IW.CFG has this setting because the original server (TS 7.3.2) had it set

disable_ext_task_impersonation=true

there are a lot of threads on this forum for PT Compile and Impersonation failure, but not a lot of fixes.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure of the details - but I think you may have to do something in IWHOME/etc/iwutild.cfg

Something like (possibly):

<command-list>
    <command
        name="iwpt_compile"
        path="/opt/interwoven/TeamSite/bin/iwpt_compile.ipl"
impersonate="false"/>
    ...
</command-list>

The end result though may be that the generated files are listed as being created / owned / modified by SYSTEM...

Thanx Ghoti: I'll give that a try tonight, when i can do a reset, as it is a prod server.

i did try last night to set Impersonation to false ( disable_ext_task_impersonation=false ) in IW.CFG and doing a reset, but it did not change the issues / error in logs or in trying to "generate" so i set things back. I'll try the iwutil config file tonite.

actually already had something similar in my iwutild.cfg, so i changed impersonate="true" to "false"

unfortunatly, still the same result, PT Compile error and this to match in IWTrace

Error: Impersonation failure user= Domain\userid; argcount=13; errCode=1317;

queue the sad trombone...

Well, 7.4.1 has not yet readed EOL (it's announced that it will, but hasn't gotten there yet) - so I'd recommend opening a case with Support to see if they can help you resolve the issue (and pass along the fix to everyone here too)
