formAPI requires livesite?

We're an old-school client, using TeamSite 7.2.1. We use templating and perl to prebuild web pages four our destination web server(s). We have no desire to install LiveSite anywhere.

Are we still able to use presentation templates and perl or the equivalent in TeamSite 8.0?

Yes that all still works. TPLs are fine as is FormAPI. You will not lose functionality

NOTE: If you are on Unix and using Non-OS Users (e.g.: LDAP) - you will not be able to use Perl based TPLs nor Perl external or CGI tasks unless you explicitly turn off any attempt at having the system perform impersonation. But given the originial premise of the post, if it worked in 7.2.1 it should continue to work in 7.x and 8.x
