value-from-field in data-deploy-configuration

I am new to Teamsite .

Can anyone help me to understand about what is value-from-field ? I thought it is the field where we can get it from DCR .

Say for example I have field as "abc" in my template and then i tried to get value-from-field="abc"

But i got the below error when i did the data deploy.

DBD: ERROR:Exception occured: Values for PK column [Status] missing in [templatedata/CAG/Commercial_Appetite_Guide/data/test].
DBD: ERROR:
com.interwoven.dd100.dd.InvalidSourceTupleException: Values for PK column [Status] missing in [templatedata/CAG/Commercial_Appetite_Guide/data/test].

The error is probably because you are trying to deploy NULL to a PK column (named STATUS) in DB. The value for that particular column is supposed to come from the field named test (templatedata/CAG/Commercial_Appetite_Guide/data/test) field in the DCR.

Value-from-field requires the xpath of the field. "abc" would probably never work. "/abc" would work if you had a top-level-item in your DCR named "abc". If you had something like:

<x>
  <y>cow</y>
  <z>moo</z>
</x>

Then "/x/y" would provide the value "cow" and "/x/z" would provide the value "moo".

Check your log. If you have it verbose, then it should list every field in the DCR.

Be careful about using the column name 'path' as I believe DataDeploy assumes that column has specific meaning.

Also - try leaving off the leading '/' - Looking back at the examples in the manuals it looks like it should perhaps be "root/Line_of_Business"

I have added custom="yes" in teamsite-templating-records tag.

Now It is working fine ..
