Migration from TeamSite7.2.1 to 7.5

Hi all,

We are planning to migrate our content from TeamSite version 7.2.1 to TeamSite version 7.5 (Unix based).

TeamSite 7.5 is already being installed.

We are using SitePublisher also.

Can someone please tell me the step involved in the same.

Also, Do we need to run Dependency migration tool or Iwmigrate will help my cause ?

Read the installation guide. If you're upgrading in place, all you should need to do is run the walkArchive.pl script. If this is your first upgrade, you will likely run into all kinds of problems along the way. You need to watch your installation log and your server log (at the very least) during the upgrade to make sure nothing goes wrong. It is not trivial to upgrade this product.

Thanks Smitty , Just have a quick question.

From your reply do you mean that , I just need to copy the store across the server and execute the walkArchive.pl script ?

if so ,Where I will find this Script ?

The walkArchive script is in: <tshome>/private/bin

Are you not installing in place? Sounds like you're installing on new servers then copying your backing store. You should still only need to run the walkArchive script on your store, but you have a lot more work to do than that. You will have to copy over any modified configs, among other things.

We have already installed TeamSite on new server.

I Have gone through the installation guide and it was mentioned to execute dependency migration tool along with iwmigrate .

I have already copied over all the modified configs to the new server. Just needed to proceedwith the Store.

What I was told is that the walkArchive script simply ensures all the files in the backing store are owned by the iwts user, so if you are certain that all the files in the backing store are already owned by iwts, then you probably don't even have to run the script. I ran it just to be safe.
