TeamSite 8.1: FreeMarker templates

Garth McMillan

Hi All,

Has anyone played with using the FreeMarker (http://freemarker.incubator.apache.org/) templating engine in TeamSite 8.1? If so, have have your experiences been so far?

I've not played with it myself yet, about to install 8.1, but will update this thread with anything useful that I find, when I do.

I've used FreeMarker templates in the past and to be honest wasn't really impressed.

If you've got a team full of FreeMarker developers then there's a case for using it but if not can't see any reason to use it over the pre-existing alternatives. XSL's probably the best long-term templating option as should you need to ramp-up your developer resources with contactators at any time you'll find more with good XSL skills than FreeMarker.
