Encrypting passwords in reports configuration file

Hi All,

Is there any way to encrypt and use the passwords in reporting configuration files? If yes, please provide more details/steps to be followed.

/server/default/deploy/js-jboss-ds.xml

/server/default/deploy/report-ds.xml

The above XMLs are used in workflow perl code to connect to DB for updating the details(initiator, approver, comments,etc) for custom report.

TeamSite 7.1/SQL 2005/Windows 2003

I would call support, though your version is unsupported. I know you can encode in the more recent versions, but 7.1 is several years old and it may not have been added to this functionality.

Could you please share the steps to encrypt the password in recent version? This may be helpful when we upgrade into latest version.

I am seeing plain password in TS 7.5 reports configuration file.

There are 2 things to do. 1st you have to figure out *what* tool you use to encrypt the password. Not certain what it is for reports (I never use them). They are different for different items.

Then you use an entry like this:

password=ENC(pJDXjhDJkw)
