LSCS Idol index sevice crashes on deployment

HI ,

we are having an issue with one of our Intervowen livesite content service Index service( idol). everytime we do a plc deployment it crashes. in order to get it back we run idol drecompact. it happen only on one server. Any help would be appreciated. It started very recently.

do deployments succeed after the DRECOMPACT at all?  So it runs for a bit and will accept a few deployments then stops working again?

 

If the first PLC crashes it this is what we do:

 

If you find that one (or possibly more) LSCS servers are not accepting deployment even after a restart of LSCS and OD try this:

 

1. Look in the LSCS log   vi LiveSiteCSRT/log/lscs.log
2. Search for "Pending context"
   for example you will see something like this:

  3, Open the associated database for LSCS for the server(s) with issues  (some SQL client)

  4. Run the sql statement (use the long number from the log file:
  select * from context where context_id = '63c4048f6eac8855dd4ca55a5a6201ef'

  5. You will most likely see that the "active" bit is not set...Set it.
update context set active=1 where context_id = '63c4048f6eac8855dd4ca55a5a6201ef'
