The TeamSite installer won't let me re-install TeamSite Search even though I've uninstalled it

Hi,

I hope someone can help me.

I had to uninstall my TeamSite installation; TeamSite, Admin, Search etc.

I deleted the interwoven folder.

I then reinstalled TeamSite and Admin.

Now I'm trying to re-install Search but it says it's already installed.

Does anyone know how to;

a) find out what was left behind by the uninstall ?

b) override the installer and re-install the search ?

Hi, just a thought but after the the uninstallation was complete, was the IR database cleaned up as well? if not, please try removing Search entries in IR database tables and restarting the Search installation.

It might not be the answer you expect, but I recommend to install Teamsite in clean systems. If you really removed all the relevant software from that machine, maybe it's better to also reinstall the OS. You can have further problems otherwise.

You likely did not remove everything you need to remove when you did your uninstall. Nipper wrote a very good list of what all needs to be removed when you delete your TeamSite instance - you should be able to search for "uninstall" and find it.

Windows is trickier than Linux

Check:

1. the IR DB and make certain it has no entry for Search

2. the registry and remove anything that references TeamSite Search

3. find the iwinstall directory and find the product list XML and remove Search, should be in iwinstall/private/config/inventory.xml

BTW, I tend to clean everything, this is a sugical strike that I have never tried.

There was an entry in the IR DB. I removed it and it worked.
