ERROR: Connection failed: Could not find matching OpenDeploy client

Hi All,

 

I am trying to perform target servers Opendeployment. I am getting the below error in the receiver side log file.

 

ERROR: Connection failed: Could not find matching OpenDeploy client

 

I have checked the odnodes.xml, odbase.xml and odrcvr.xml. Can anyone help me out here. Appreciate inputs.

 

Below are the xml entries that I have.

 

CMS server: 

 

odnodes.xml: <node port="20014" host="receiver.prod.com" name="receiver"/>

 

odbase.xml:

 

<allowedHosts>
<node host="CMSserver">
<allowedDirectories>
<path name="E:\iwov\OpenDeployNG\tmp"/>
</allowedDirectories>
</node>

 

Target Server:

odrcvr.xml:

 

<allowedHosts>
<node host="CMSserver">
<allowedDirectories>
<path name="/apps/iwov/OpenDeployNG/tmp"/>
</allowedDirectories>
</node>

Okay, your Base Server is Windows and your Reciever is Unix - correct?

 

The odbase.xml (on your Base server) and odrcvr.xml (on your Receiver) should define the Base Server with a fully qualified hostname or IP address, not an alias ("CMSserver") unless that alias is properly established in the DNS and/or hosts file (I believe %windir%\system32\drivers\etc on Windows; in /etc/ [usually] on Unix).

 

I.e. if you run the following command on both your Base and Receiver - what do you see as a result:

ping CMSserver

My guess is that at least one (the Receiver) if not both, will return something like "Unknown host".

 

Thus the entries that look like:

<allowedHosts>
  <node host="CMSserver">
    <allowedDirectories>
      <path name="..."/>
    </allowedDirectories>
  </node>
<allowHosts>

Need to have the highlighted piece replaced with something like "CMSserver.company.com" - once that is done, you should restart the OpenDeploy service on whichever server(s) you made this change - and then try to run your deployment.
