Install Perl module in TeamSite

Hi,

I'm migrating codes from TS v6.6 to TS v7.5 and there are codes where we use Perl modules (DBD: Smiley Surprised racle & Text::CSV). I'm not too familiar with Perl, appreciate if anyone can teach me how to install these modules in TeamSite? I already have the .tar.gz but can't find the "make" command in iw-home/iw-perl/bin folder.

'make' is a basic software development tool, not a perl-specific tool. Since you appear to be on Unix, GNU Make (a.k.a. "gmake") is the most common tool used - you should talk to your system administrators and/or google for how to get gmake installed on your current OS.

Text::CSV should be easy to install - you could probably just use Perl's built-in cpan command to install that (try running perldoc cpan for more info).

DBD: Smiley Surprised racle will likely require gmake and various libraries and such to properly install. The DBD modules tend to come with rather extensive README files - I suggest you read through those to help you get that installed.

Note: If you're just upgrading TeamSite, but not doing a fresh install on a new server - and you already have Text::CSV and DBD: Smiley Surprised racle in place - you should not need to do anything with regard to those modules as part of the installation process (assuming that those modules were correctly installed in iw-perl/site/lib rather than iw-perl/vendor/lib).

Thanks for your reply. After doing some searches, I need to set a few things in my $PATH to get the make command running. Yes, Text::CSV is much more straight forward to install. I still have some problems to install DBD: Smiley Surprised racle tho.

libclntsh.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

Bcoz the new server we're setting up is on 64bit while the codes that I have is for 32bit. Am stuck here for the time being, not sure what to do next for this & had to skip to a more important task at hand. At least now I know how to start the installation.

Well, iwperl is 32-bit (and unlikely to change) - so you may need to explicitly download some 32-bit libraries for compiling the module, something like (unverified):

% yum search libclntsh
(search for latest 32-bit version)
% yum -y install package_name

There might be a way to streamline the search to only show 32-bit versions, and if so, the same methodology might allow you to skip that step and just do the installation, but ... as I don't have a Linux server to play with, I cannot verify that at this time.

Hi,

We're installing on a Solaris sparc. Managed to install by pointing to the Oracle 32bit lib:

perl -pi -e 's/CC=true/CC=true LIBDIR=lib32/' Makefile.PL

It's actually the datacapture.cfg that calls an .ipl file that has a connection to the db. So when I test to create a new DCR, this error shows:

com.interwoven.ui.datacapture.core.dct.InlineCallout$InlineCalloutException: install_driver(Oracle) failed: Can't load '/app/iw-home/TeamSite/iw-perl/site/lib/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.so' for module DBD:racle: ld.so.1: perl: fatal: /app/oracle/OraHome1/lib/libclntsh.so.9.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 at /app/iw-home/TeamSite/iw-perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 229.

Tried to put LD_LIBRARY_PATH in my .ipl to point to ORACLE_HOME/lib32 but still shows me the same error.
