Approve/Reject of Review Task in Workflow without connecting back to TS

Hello Team,

We would like to implement a Review task for a workflow in TeamSite with Approve/Reject links and this Approve/Reject should happen from email (that reviewers get) itself without interfering with TeamSite.

Kindly let me know if this is doable? If so, can this be done using CSSDK API or any other suggestions?

Not difficult.

You need to get some training, at least read the Worflow Modeler Developers Guide. The emails are quite customizable and you can embed links in the emails. The Approve/Reject is really a transition to the appropriate task, so you need to figure out the URL to build, but that shouldn't be too hard.

The CSSDK may come in play to actaully build the URL, but I think you can do it without it.

FYI, the reviewer will have to be logged into TeamSite for this to work. If there is not a valid session, then they will get the login screen before they can transition to the next task.

Further FYI: A TeamSite session started from an Email program (e.g.: Outlook, etc.) is distinct from a session started manually via your browser - they use distinct cookies. So just because someone logged into TeamSite from their browser launched directly from their desktop does not mean that they will automatically be logged into TeamSite when the connection is launched through clicking on a link in an email.

However, once they have clicked on the link in the email and authenticated, that authentication should be good for [by default] 24-hours, and so if they click on another such link in an email, they will not have to re-authenticate again (unless they explicitly logged out from the last session)

No necessarily. If the URL is the same as your bookmark, you will be OK, done this before a number of times.

However, if the logged in URL is http://teamsite/iw-cc/command/iw.ui and the email link is http://teamsite.myco.com/... then you will need to log in again.
