where can I find iServer?
farid
Hi everybody,
I'm evaluating the iPortal. During test iPortal, I learnt about iServer. Sounds like I can get more advanced feature with integrating iPortal with iServer.
But funny, I could not find the details regarding iServer, if I should install it seperately, if I can get evaluation version of it, where I can download it & where I can find documents reagarding iServer.
I appreciate all help & directions, in advance.
Thanks
Farid

Hi Farid,

You can find information about the iServer at http://www.actuate.com
. You can jump right to the Enterprise deployment page at http://www.actuate.com/products/deployment-options/enterprise/index.asp
; which has contact information and Product Resources like demos, whitepapers, etc.
Hi Parveen,
I'm not quite understanding what you are not able to see. If you have installed the iServer Express, and your server connection is established, you should be able to see the default files and folder structures that are in the iServer Express.
If you are having difficulty establishing a connection, your iServer Profile settings should look something like the following (default install):
Profile name: My Local iServer Express
iServer: localhost
Port: 8000
Volume: yourVolumeName (likely the DNS name of the machine)
User name: Administrator
Password: (blank is the default)
iPortal Server: localhost
iPortal Port: 8900
Context Path: /iportal

If you want to automatically deploy BIRT report design files to the iServer Express from the BIRT Designer, then you must use Actuate BIRT Designer instead of Eclipse BIRT Designer. You can still use Eclipse BIRT Designer, but you will have to use the iServer Express Management Console (web app) to publish your BIRT designs.

Products
and Services - BIRT Report Designers - Overview - BIRT Exchange

Once Actuate BIRT Designer is installed, select Window | Show View | Other... | Report Design | Servers. This will open the iServer Servers Profile tab. In that Servers window, right click on Servers and select New iServer Profile and then fill out the fields similar to the earlier post in this thread.
