Exporting reports to Excel

Hi,

I have created few reports using the birt report designer(2.1.x). When I export the report the produced excel report dosen't contain the same format as it has in the birt report viewer. For instances in the produced excel file, between each column of the report it contains a blank excel column. If you have experienced this before and have solve it please be kind enough to let us know.

Are you using BIRT or eSS? Could you post screen shots of the project space then the report after it is run?

It does happen on OpenOffice Calc. I haven't tried it on Microsoft Excel.

I had probelsm with exporting to Open Office Calc (It was opening it in Open Office Write as an XML Document) but when I tried with Excel it seemed to work ok.
