Strange Birt problem while generating PDF

I have a dataset load data from database, but I also defined its "on fetch", "before close" methods. While generate the web-site it works fine, but when it comes to pdf it has so many null exceptions.

I did some investment and I found out after the on fetch method of the dataset the before close method wasn't get called at all, which is different from the process of generating the web site. I am not sure if it is a bug or what, but is there any way the before close method would be called immediately after on fetch? Thanks!

Hi froster,

You have probably already moved on from this issue, but I'll still respond as someone else using an older version of BIRT may run into the same issue. There have been many advancements in the PDF output since the early versions. Based on the date of this post, you were probably using a 2.1.x version or an early 2.2.x version. What you described sounds like a bug. It has most likely been fixed in newer version of BIRT.
