VisualFormat strips class definitions from HTML

Hi all

We are currently working on some enhancements to our TS Templates - of which is the inclusion of some custom styles in the Visual Format Editor.

Ive got the VFE side of things working - it reads the custom style sheet and users can select what they want - for example "redtext" - it previews OK inside VFE - but when the page is generated the class attributes are stripped off.

Instead of getting something like:
<div class="redtext">this text is red</div>

I get:
<div >this text is red</div>

Ive gone through all the doco on VFE but it doesnt discuss this..... or did I miss something?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is the attribute stripped out in the DCR or in the generated page only?
If the latter - then the problem is probably in the PT - most likely with a regex ...

I'd also check your visualformat config file for the clean element. If it looks similar to this:


<clean charencode="entityname" cr="cr" lf="lf" preferfonttag="false" reducetags="true">
 <remove>
  <attribute>class</attribute> 
 </remove>
</clean>

Then you've got a problem because the class attribute is stripped.

If that isn't the case, look directly in the DCR source and see if it exists under the value element.

Migrateduser

if it is stripped out of the DCR I would check your vfe config.xml file to see how you have your clean html options set...

the <clean> and <style> nodes are the 2 to look at.

Worked it out - we have a perl module for formatting the output - ie cleaning the user entered content when the generated page is being written - for some reason we were stripping the class attribute from all HTML tags - edited the files and its fixed........
