sort column in crosstab

I have downloaded the stable build v 2.3 and I still cannot get my columns to sort by an attribute assigned to it. Please tell me if I'm doing it wrong. My steps are:

1) create a computed column in the dataset that feeds the cube; it is called Sort Rank and goes from 1 to 9 based on results of the other column I want to sort

2) in the cube, double-click on the dimension (called Location, it is also dynamic) and add the attribute called 'Sort Rank'

3) go back to the crosstab, click on the entire crosstab and go to its properties, under Sorting, add sort by the Group Level: Location, and Sort Key: select the attribute Sort Rank under expression builder so it looks like this: dimension["Location"]["LOCATION_NAME"]["sort rank"]


still does not want to sort

I have created that kind of report before. I think your steps are correct. Please run my report in your build. I have checked it works in my BIRT2.3.0 RC build. and check whether it works in your side.
