Meter Chart ?
Rojo
Hi, I need to make a Meter Chart, and BIRT includes it.
I suppose that a Tacometer, only draw a Arrow that indicates the value of some variable
by example:
Minimus = 30 = Red
Satisfactory = 75 = Yellow
Outstanding = 90 or more = Green
if the result is 45, the meter chart will display the arrow in the value 45 with red color
But, How to make a meter chart, I follow the help on Eclipse BIRT, and when I add a Meter
Value Definition (Dial 1, Dial 2...), the meter chart draw a Arrow for every value definition
and I need that onlye draw an arrow with the value of my result.
Another question, is, how to fill with colors the meter chart ?
If somebody have an example, It will help me, and I will apreciate.
Thanks.

Rojo,
You only need one series. Look at this example. To set the background colors look on the third tab of the wizard for regions. Select the third tab and then select the series and the regions button will be at the bottom.

Guys please help me out with this problem.
i have a table with a list of orders. in that table there is a column with the discount the customer gets.
Now i want to know with a meter how many percentage of all the orders get a discount. i tried a lot of things. But the meter always stays on 0 or 1.
Can you please help me.

What is the value of the discount column? Do some orders show 0 and others show some specific value for the customer?

Thx for the help
An example out of the database:
orderID - productID - discountValue
1 - 3485 - 3.8
2 - 1245 - 0.00
3 - 9367 - 10.94
4 - 4321 - 0.00
5 - 8473 - 9.10

You should be able to add some computed columns to the dataset to handle this. Make sure to set the funciton on the meter chart to be average and set the min and max to 0 and 1. See attached example that shows percentage of orders that have over 25 qty. Look at computed columns on dataset.

Hi Jason,
Thanks for the sample rpts, they did help, but i did not exactly under stand how the range has been set on the meter chart.
Say i have to show 63.2 out of 100.
So my backend query returns only 63.2 and may we can send both 63.2 and 100 as 2 columns
How do i create a meter chart that shows the pointer at 63.2 where the max value possible is 100
Thanks,
Aditya
