Deploy script question
JNoah
I think this is related to OpenDeploy. What I need to do is:
- make a script that:
- parses, for example, a template config. file
- writes certain portions of the file to a new template config. file which will be used for the release
Then I'm assuming open deploy will do the release with this newly created template config. file
My question is: Does OpenDeploy have the capabilities to add a script so that in the deployment (release) process, I can use this script? Or, would I have to just make an external utility using perl/Java/UNIX shell script to perform this, completely independent of Open Deploy?
Any input would be much appreciated,
- Noah

Noah,
You can create an external script and then call that at the appropriate trigger point(s) during the deployment. This is the Deploy-and-Run (aka DNR) feature of OpenDeploy.
