Hi Praveen_V,
Your question is mixing several product lines and versions together so I'll give a simplified look and we can dig into any piece you want more info on.
ActivePortal and iPortal are similar technologies for different versions of Actuate products and are the front end or user entry portal into the Actuate iServer. The Management console is the administrative entry portal into the Actuate iServer.
On BIRT Exchange, we focus on the BIRT related technologies and you'll find:
Actuate iServer Express which includes the report server plus:
- iPortal - web application for end-users to run/schedule/view/etc reports
- Interactive Viewer - AJAX end-user customizations
- BIRT Designer for End Users - On the fly BIRT reports
- Config console - one time setup
- Mgmt console - administrator interface into iServer - cancel jobs, setup users, etc
BIRT Deploymet Kit - uses same iPortal front end as above but does everything within the J2EE container for lighter weight or workgroup/application reporting.
- iPortal - web application for end-users to run/schedule/view/etc reports
- Interactive Viewer - AJAX end-user customizations
- BIRT Designer for End Users - On the fly BIRT reports
I hope this helps.
