SVG and Barcodes

Hello, 
 
I've come to this page by evaluating BIRT. By trying around with it many questions answered themself, but few remained. 
BIRT made a good impression to me so using it or not is quite dependent of the following (hopefully) answered questions: 
 
1. SVG Grafics 
We use in our current reporting system (XSLT/FO handwritten stylesheets) SVG grafics to illustrate certain medical diagnostic results such as Reiberdigrams (<a class='bbc_url' href='http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/49/Reiber-Diagramm.jpg'>http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/49/Reiber-Diagramm.jpg</a>) or Elektrophoresisd diagrams (<a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.tellmed.ch/show_image.php?file_id=3149'>http://www.tellmed.ch/show_image.php?file_id=3149</a>) 
Is it possible to use existing SVG grafics with BIRT? 
 
2 Barcodes 
Is there any barcode support?

Hi Jan,

BIRT has many ways to extend it allowing you to integrate existing application pieces. For example, the Text control in BIRT allows you to integrate HTML into a report. Here you can place an <img... tag or <embed... tag and the image or SVG component can be sourced from a servlet that accepts URL parameters where you generate your own graphics or barcode images. In the case of barcodes, you can also use a barcode True Type Font (TTF)
