relationship with other reporting and olap sw

I'm Giovanni from Roma. I'm starting to use BIRT and I have an important question:
can these use library, report, dataset or other from some other Olap or reporting open-source sw like Pentaho/Mondrian, Crystal Reports for Eclipse etc???

BIRT uses several pieces of open source software like other Eclipse projects, Data Tools Project, EMF, GEF, etc, plus uses iText library for PDF and Postscript creation.
