Creating complex Gantt using Birt
trueller
Hello,
I know, Birt for Eclipse can display rudimental Gantt Charts. But we are searching for a possibility to create Gantts with additional Features.
* Tasks/Activities on the left side of the Gantt Chart (Grouping?)
* Display Relationships between Tasks (Arrows or something)
* Histogram or personal Human Ressouce Chart below? (maybe separated)
* Creating searchable PDF Export from generated Reports (searchable!)
Is there a chance to complete the Birt Sources to get this range of functions?
If anybody know a german support Forum or Community Forum for Birt, please tell me the link.
I am glad about any answers
Truelli

Hi Truelli,

A Gantt chart in BIRT does support the tasks/activities on the left and supports an optional grouping of those values. I have not found a way to draw arrows from one task to another. You might want to add enhancements to Bugzilla at https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=BIRT
; so that you can track the progress. You could also check out the source code from Eclipse.org if you wanted to try to make these enhancements yourself.

As for the histogram, that should not be a problem.

For the searchable PDF, currently BIRT creates a PDF where all the table and text elements can be searched... but right now, the text elements that are part of the chart are not searchable. You might also add this as an enhancement if that is what you need.
