Integrating Birt Designer with existing RCP application

Hi,
I have an application built on RCP. And now I need to integrate Birt Designer into the RCP application. Currently, I am not sure of the approach or the complexity or the time needed. The basic requirement is to bring up the Designer UI into my own application.
With eclipse IDE it is pretty straighforward. We just need to add the plugin into the plugin folder and a new perspective is added to the eclipse ide. On clicking the perspective the RCP designer related view comes up.
Can something similar be repliocated for my own application,though it doesnt seem to be straight forward.
I could find articles about integrating Birt report engine and report viewer into existing RCP application but not on Birt designer

Any help would be highly appreciated.
