Visibility Condition

Hi guys..I have 4 grid in my report..and I want to hide the grid if the AMOUNT field is 0...however...it seems doesnt like when i do
row[amount_field] == 0 or ==null or =="".....Any1 has come across problem with hiding rows with Amount field? it hasnt got any error buy just not hiding it...PLEASE THANKSSSSS

OF COS..here is my RPTDESIGN..I want to hide it if the field TOTAL_DWE_PD is 0...thats an amount field..it is version 2.2.2

at the bottom u can see i put the condition in the visibility....but i tried == 0, ==null and alot more other still doesnt work.....

Try changing your expression from:

if (toString(row["TOTAL_DWE_PD"]) == "0") {true;} else {false;}

to:

if (row["TOTAL_DWE_PD"].toString() == "0") {true;} else{false;}

That should do the trick. If not, let me know.

nope....:( i tried everything....with quate without quoate... i think its only hiding when there is literally NOTHING in the field..but if the amount 0 is enter...it is treating 0 as something...how can i treat 0 as NOTHING....:( THANKSSS

The best way to do this would probably be to make your report out of tables rather than grids so that you can access the data inside the report element. A workaround that I found that you can do...it's kind of a hack.....is to put a hidden data element in your report right before your grid. You can then create a persistentGlobalVariable in the script on this data element. Then in the visibility section of the property editor for your grid, you can call that variable and compare it to "0". This should be able to get you around your problem without redesigning it, but like I said before, it's kinda a hack. Let me know the outcome.
