Cascading parameter TextBox

Hi,

I have a little problem using the cascading parameters...

Is it possible to set the type of the first parameter to a simple text field, which is not bound to a dataset. I just want to past a simple ID. The second parameter should then display values for that ID in a combobox. Because we got about a million IDs in the first place a dropdown or listbox isn't a good solution here (takes too long. not a better overview). I just want to paste an ID there.

I'm looking for the same solution for this scenario. Has this been resolved. I have a list of merchants that can be unlimited and I need to to have the end-user type in some substring and then run a sql query based on what the end-user types in and then populate the drop down list.

no I have NOT a solution to this problem. And I need this functionality again. Does anyone a have simple solution to this? Maybe a javascript popup where you can enter the first parameter (ID) and change the cascading parameters accordingly?

How could this be accomplished?
