VisualFormatter Image Insert button configuration

I want to configure the visual formatter insert picture button to allow the user to:
1. Browse a particular folder in their workarea for an existing image or
2. Upload an image from their local file system and have that image copy up to a particular folder in their workarea. The generated HTML must use the correct path to the workarea and also preview correctly inside the editor.
3. Once the user submits the generated file, the workflow should deploy any images referenced in the visualformat field that do not already exist to the web servers file system.

Is any of this possible? Can someone suggest what I need to do to get started?

Hi

To create a new button in your toolbar, you need to:
- update you visual config file to add a button
- update localxxx.xml ( for internationalization, for english it is local0409b.xml )
- create your event function and the insert function in ewebeditpro/customevent.js
- in a cgi you can create a custom HTML form to upload your image in a workarea and also use the teamsite browser functionnality to select it (/iw-cc/command/iw.formspub.browse_for_link, you can find a lot of post on how to create your own callback function ).

For the deployment of your images, i suggest that in your TPL you extract from your content all the media path, and store them in a filelist. Then in your workflow, you just have to add a task to deploy this filelist.

we had done this for one of our customers... yuo basically need to do some pattern matching to get all the "a href"s and "img src"s from your VisualFormat text and form Filelist out of them. The import tool can be downloaded from the Interwoven KB. I remeber seeing the code sample there.
