Line charts

Hi,
I've created a report with a line chart, which displays the count of records grouped by date (x-axis).
However, there may be dates when there are no records at all.
Would it be possible to get the line to dip to 0 in this case, so the trend appears more accurate?
Thanks,
Cedric

Hi Cedric,

There's not a real good solution to that I don't think. You should go to http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/reportabug.php
; and submit an enhancement request for the scaling on the charts to cover this.

For now, one thing you could do would be to create a scripted datasource or a datasource of some other type that can bring in all the dates for you. Then you can do an outer join on your two datasets and chart based off the new joint dataset. There may be other possible work-arounds, but that's one I know will work for sure.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Michael, I had a feeling I would need to do a join of some sort to be able to get the data I want.
