Assignina value to a parameter from URL

Hi,

I am using BIRT 2.2.1.I designed a report and intergrated it with my application.I am passing values to the report from application through URL based on which report gets filtered.

Now i am passing a value checksum=12343898741234410 in which the last 10 is the value which has to be passed to a parameter in the report.

I tried doing this in beforeopen script using reportContext method.But i cant assign the value to the parameter.
