Format string to date for range values

Can anyone help me in this...
From database, the date value is coming in the string format as range 'MM/dd/yy , MM/dd/yy' i.e '01/01/08,12/31/08'. How can I format it to show it in the way 'Jan 01, 2008 to Dec 31, 2008'?

you can simply slect the cell where date is getting fetched from database and in property editor select the desired format using Format DateTime.
