JDBC driver for oracle 9i

can any one please say the procedure to connect to oracle database using jdbc datasource.

im using jave 1.5 in my system.

please give the syntax of the 'Driver URL'.

Hi karteek,

The syntax for your oracle driver URL should be:

jdbc: oracle:thin:@<host_name>:<port_number>:<database_name>
(no space after the ":" before oracle. It just made that into

if I didn't put the space)

im using java 1.5. 
i have downloaded ojdbc14.jar for this. but its not supporting java 1.5. 
 
is there any other option? 
 
what is that oracle 'thin'?
