iwwft_available.ipl error code 2 trying to execute

System

So there are only like 3 other posts that mention this script and only one of them relates to my problem.... PreSubmit: error code 2 while trying to execute iwwft_available.ipl ...

I discovered the deploy for the files from TeamSite into the wft directory was changing the owner, I fixed this and it still gives this error ...

any ideas what could cause error code 2? is it permissions, the permission bits are 775 ... owned by root and group of daemon ...

thanks

I hate to say this - but you really should not assume that everyone has the context of your problem at their fingertips - please post with complete information (versions, platforms, log files, scripts, wfts, whatever). If you don't want to do that here - then contact support and send the information to them. It sounds like something is misconfigured at your site, but not having a lot of information to go on, its kind of difficult to say more.

well ... i didn't want to supply everything if i didn't half to :-p ... just thought maybe someone ran into this ... but here it goes ... can't call this in because its not going to be supported because we have to customize the available_templates.ipl and available_templates.dtd so that we could filter our workflows by unix group ... something we were doing in TeamSite 4.5 but can't now ...

Environment: Solaris 8
TeamSite Version: 5.5.2 SP3

I'm not sure where to look for log files when a CGI fails ... but I was looking through them and found this in our trace log through the admin gui:

ERROR: no valid submit config file found in the current configuration (/opt/iw-home/conf/events/submit.conf, /opt/iw-home/local/config/submit.cfg, /opt/iw-home/config/submit.cfg, /opt/iw-home/local/config/submit.cfg) (2)
ERROR: no valid autoprivate file found in the current configuration (/opt/iw-home/conf/events/autoprv.txt, /opt/iw-home/local/config/autoprivate.cfg, /opt/iw-home/config/autoprivate.cfg, /opt/iw-home/local/config/autoprivate.cfg) (2)
New vannotate_uid iwui (4500)

i don't know if that's bad or not ... thing to note, before changes everythign works fine ... i can run available_templates.ipl perfectly fine with debugging ... i can even run iwwft_available.ipl from the command line and no errors occur (this may be because cgi doesn't exist or who knows) ...

so ... here are the 3 files ... something simple ... ya ... added a element like the user_list and user element called group_list and group ... then copied the code in available_templates.ipl to have a new method matches_group_nodes that does the compare ... successfully in command line runs mind you ...

oh and the wft_transmittal.wft file is the default/submit.wft file basically ... i didn't do any modifications and usually when workflows are bad it complains about that not that it can't even decide which workflows to display ...

any ideas? and yes yes.. i know this is unsupported but this isn't an official support site eh...

and I just noticed that the dtd is wrong ... but i fixed it and it still gives error 2 ... Smiley Happy

note to self: make sure if you add debugging information you remove it before trying to see if the script runs in the proper environment (changed the location of available_templates.cfg to run at the command line in the test environment, changed this back and boom, it works like a a champ)

The DTD doesn't really matter - it's mostly provided as a reference to the DTD and not generally used in processing.

The changes to the IPL and CFG file are probably more meaningful. Can you explain why you made the change around line 29 from:

open( FH, "$iw_home/local/config/wft/available_templates.cfg" )
    or die "Available_templates.xml not accessible";

To:

open( FH, "available_templates.cfg" )
    or die "Available_templates.xml not accessible";

I haven't done any extensive testing with your config file - but I did notice that if I didn't include the path to available_templates.cfg I got an error message like the one you were indicating:
--------------
TeamSite : iwlistuserwftask
Error: Error: An Error 2 has occurred when attempting to execute iwwft_available.ipl
--------------

I'd also suggest clearly marking places in the code where you make changes - to make it easier for you to re-port the next time you apply a patch, service pack, or upgrade - and to make it easier for folks like me who are reviewing the file and trying to indentify the changes you made (diff's take you so far, but after a while they can get confused too).

i'm only in the testing phase, this isn't being used in a production environment yet ... we are in the process of upgrading from 4.5 to 5.5.2 ... see my previous comment on why i made that change and how undoing the change there which was only for testing solved the problem ...

Hi,

It seems i have similar kind error .

I am getting the following error

PresubmitError:
Error:An error 11 has occured when attempting to execute iwwft_available.ipl

it is TS4.5 on Unix box
Any suggestion regarding this issue?

Migrateduser

4.5 is pretty down-rev. I strongly recommend you plan an upgrade to 5.5.2 as soon as possible. The end of life notice was sent out some time ago.

For that reason, you should probably work with tech support on 4.5 issues.

it probably means that the script dies... try seeing if:

`iwgethome`/iw-perl/bin/iwperl -c -w iwwft_available.ipl

gives a syntax ok, if it doesn't, write a piece of code that simulates a call to the function available_templates ...
