Asisstance required in building Web viewer 2.3

Hi

I have been trying to build BiRT web viewer 2.3 but I haven't been at all successful despite instructions.

I am very new at Open Source builds and I notice most of the instructions out there lack greatly in detail and also miss some vital steps.

Does anyone know anywhere to find good detailed (and valid) instructions on building BiRT?

Hello Again,

I got to read the book on integrating BiRT. there is a chapter there that talks about building BiRT. However, I am stuck at something.

I am trying to compile the viewservlets.jar file so that the new changes I made to the report viewer's servlets can be compiled as well.

According to the book, after downloading the source of the version i want (2.3...the book was written with 2.2 in mind) and importing all the birt projects into my eclipse workspace, I should open up the org.eclipse.birt.report.viewer"project and right click the META-INF/manifest.mf file and click on PDE tools->create ant build.

I do this and a build.xml file is created, as the book says it should, so all good here. However, upon running that build.xml as an ant script, the viewservlets.jar is supposed to be generated in the birt/WEB-INF/lib folder....but it doesn't.

I will post the build.xml and the verbose console output of the script when run.

This is the verbose console output.

The forum tells me the build.xml is too big to post, but that should easily be seen from anyone's end if you have the source.

I am in need of urgent help with this and would gladly appreciate any productive help.
