multiples tables on master page footer

hi

i've been using birt for some time ago. right now i'm using birt 2.2.2.

i need to create a report with a fixed footer. that is: data elements always at certain position at the bottom page. so i use master page footer.

when i use labels (and things like that) it works fine, but i can't use tables or any other dataset elements. i really need to link this elements to data from various DataSets.

how can i do it?

any help will be very very very much appreciated!

Hi vladimir,

Like you said, the master page doesn't allow for tables or lists. What does your report look like? If you're just doing a table, you could set up a group that is based off of an interval on a row count field or something along those lines. This way you could use the group footer to put the data you want at the bottom of each page. You would have to adjust the group interval to be sure that the groups wouldn't go more than one page though.

is like a quotation with a header section, detail and footer. on footer goes sums totals and payments methods. this ones are from 2 tables and can be more than one row table.

please could you explain this better, cuz i didn't get it at 100%. i play around with groups, but vertical align at bottom puts TEXT INSIDE of the table at the bottom of the TABLE, not at the bottom of the page.

Yeah, the group footer wouldn't necessarily be at the very, very bottom of the page. It'd be the last thing on the page.

Depending on how your report is setup, you could also use a grid and a fixed layout to try to get things exactly where you want them.

thanks for your help, it give me an idea to build it. this is how i did it:

- first of all i remove margins from page and also page hearder and footer.
- the principal element was the Grid. if you see the attachment, you will see that i had 3 main parts: header, detail footer. so i create a grid with 3 rows, each one representing the 3 main parts.
- then i set its height to the height of the main parts (in inchs). the total height of the 3 parts was the height of the page.

the rest was a matter of tables and usual stuff.
