Where to put a custom java class in eclipse?
Birt_Ben_S
Hi all,
Where should I put my custom java class in eclipse for my scripts to use and for the report to be "Preview"? Do I have to create a plugin to use this java class? An example for showing how to write a custom java function and use it in the eclipse environment would be great.
I saw somewhere saying that for a web server it should be put in WEB-INF/classes, but I cannot find where to put in Eclipse environment.
Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,
If you're just wanting to use it in the designer, one thing you can do is create a java project and put the class in there. Then you can right click on your report project, go to properties, and then go to the Project References section and choose your java project out of the list.

<p>Hi,</p><p> </p><p>One thing is that you are missing a comma between the first and second argument of the initialize call. Your code is:</p><p>var av = actuate.initialize( '<a class="bbc_url" href="
http://bvt.mid.com.au:8050/newBIRTViewerToolkit/'"
; title="External link">
http://bvt.mid.com.a...ViewerToolkit/'</a>
; reqOps==undefined?null:reqOps, null,null, myInit );</p><p>and it should be:</p><p>var av = actuate.initialize( '<a class="bbc_url" href="
http://bvt.mid.com.au:8050/newBIRTViewerToolkit/'"
; title="External link">
http://bvt.mid.com.a...ViewerToolkit/',</a>
; reqOps==undefined?null:reqOps, null,null, myInit );</p><p> </p><p>After adding a comma, your code works fine on my system.</p><p> </p><p>Hope this helps,</p><p> </p><p>P.</p>
