Best practice for report revisions?

As my prior message indicated I'm having a heck of a time getting some more subtle stuff working. So I figured I'd start making copies as I went along and got stuff operating so I'd preserve what was and be able to "change control going forward.

My disappointment began when I copied my report design file in eclipse and pasted the design with a "2" attached to the end of the name. The started changing the file. Then "previewed" the the file only to find The preview was the original file, and it had the changes in it. Subsequent investigation revealed that all changes were made to both files regardless of which I was working on...

1. What is the right way to achieve my objectives?

Hi Dartdog,

I have not been able to reproduce this issue. If I create a report called TestReport, then make a copy and paste it in my same project as TestReport2, the changes I make to either one does not translate to the other.
