how to enable and set up stmp server to sent notification

hi,
how to enable the sent email notification. I did set the ocnfiguration at the configuration console page. But weird is, it didnt ask for user login password?
and when i login the isever express to generate the report and sent email when sucess. It did not work as well. How to solve? thanks

I have tried this before actually. From the documentation, it mention normal smtp server can not work. From my understanding, if we want to sent email, we have to provide our smtp server, login and password right? but how come it did not ask for it? thanks for help

Hi cch:
To use e-mail notification capabilities, you must run Actuate iServer service under a user account. If you specified the service to run under the Local system account when you installed Actuate iServer Express, you must change it using the Log On tab in Properties in the Services control panel. You will to specify the username/password here.
