Previewing Maximo 7 source reports in BIRT 2.1.2

I have Maximo 7.1 installed on my machine and running. I have also installed BIRT Report Designer 2.1.2 and configured it according to the directions. I have imported the source BIRT reports provided by Maximo and I want to customize them. However, even before I make any changes to these reports, I tested out the Preview tab and I get the following error:

What is wrong? And what do I need to do to get these reports running correctly?

Yesterday I have the same problem. I built VMWare with WinXP, Oracle and BIRT 2.1.2.

When I previewed the report, I got the same error like yours.

I found out that there is wrong entry in the maximoDataSource file.

After entering the correct setting then I am able previewing the report in BIRT.

I have been reviewing for maximoDataSource file many times.. still not found something wrong with the entry... but the error message still comes up... I used BIRT 2.3 and MSSQL for maximo database. is it about incompatibility problem???

Check your mxreportdatasources.properties file for connection information. This file should have 5 properties defined for your datasource and the default set for ALL reports is maximoDataSource.

In mxreportdatasources.properties file these lines should be changed:
#<DataSourceName>.url=value
#<DataSourceName>..driver=value
#<DataSourceName>..username=value
#<DataSourceName>..password=value
#<DataSourceName>..schemaowner=value

<DataSourceName> should be changed to maximoDataSource
