BIRT and IIS /SQLserver 2005

Is it possible to connect BIRT to IIS/SQL server rather than use Actuate iserver?

We currently use SQL server with reporting services and are looking for an alternative to reporting services.

Hi,
As far as I know IIS doesn't allow to deploy JSR Portlets (BIRT reports can be deployed like this).
You can use for example Apache Tomcat+Liferay Portal.
You can connect MS SQL server as data source with BIRT of course.
