OpenDeploy - "Base: failed connecting"

I am having a really annoying problem occurring inconsistently. Occassionally my OD Sender cannot connect to the receiver. The error is below:

i have not noticed any patterns to when it works and when it doesn't. I am using OD5.5.1. Why would it not be able to connect to the host occasionally? I upgraded the OD jre to 1.4 I have tried deploying to a different machine. And that only works some of the time. Both machines are w2k.

Paul,

OD hasn't been tested on JRE 1.4. You should try using 1.3.1_06 instead. (I recently posted some info about swapping JREs.)

Are you able to ping the target host when the OD connection fails? Perhaps there's a network interruption or host resolution problem?
