Rendering pdf is very slow in Geronimo 2.x

Hi,

I'm using BIRT Engine 2.3.1 in Geronimo 2.1 in a Java app. BIRT is invoked over RMI. BIRT is taking a long long time to render the pdf. Comparing to running it in Geronimo 1.1.1, it's taking at least five times as long to generate/render the pdf depending on the size of the xml document.

Has anyone experienced this?
