Report footer

Hi, 
 
I have been searching through the forums when I came across the thread posted by Deb Luc <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.birt-exchange.com/forum/eclipse-birt-newsgroup-mirror/5756-footer-bottom-last-page.html'>http://www.birt-exchange.com/forum/eclipse-birt-newsgroup-mirror/5756-footer-bottom-last-page.html</a>. But it seems that there was a bug. 
 
I am in a similar situation where I want to have the footer at the end of the report. (last page of the report) 
 
It's been a while since the above-mentioned thread was posted. 
Was the bug resolved? Any help from anyone?

Are you talking about the masterpage footer or just a table footer?

What version of BIRT are you using?

Actually, I was not referring to either one.
Because I tried with the master page footer and it was not what I wanted. The footer will be always at the end of the page - as the name suggests and after a page break.

What I want is to have a legend (with 4 rows of labels) at the end of the report. Say after the last record, 2-3inches of blank space and then show the legend.
If my records are up to 3/4 of the page, the legend will be 2-3inches after the 3/4 page.
And if my records are up to 1page and a half, the legend will appear on the second page, 2-3 inches after the 1/2 mark.

Hope this is clarifies..

I'm currently using version 2.3.0

BIRTz,

If I'm understanding correctly, you might be able to get the results you're looking for by inserting a 1 column, 2 row grid after your final report element, putting the labels in the second row, and making the grid's first row's height 2-3 inches. Let me know if this helps.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your help. I think this is the closest I can get.

As mentioned in previous post, my legend has 4 rows and I would prefer that all 4 rows 'stick' to the same page. Because it may happen that 2 rows are at the bottom of the page and 2 rows at the top of the next page.

Any advice on this? Thanks

The page break within issue has not been resolved I don't believe. You can check out the bugs <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/reportabug.php'>here</a> to find any bugs about the issue and make your comments in any relevant bug report, or make one if there isn't one with your issue.
