Java Heap: Out of Memory (FYI)
UtahJerry
In the course of tracking down and testing a bug I reported with Eclipse developers, my report started producing "Java Heap: Out of Memory" error messages. Support tracked it down to another unrelated bug.
In the report design, I was trying to save a cell value to a global variable using the following code: gvTotRetainage = gvTotRetainage + this.getValue()
Ecliose support said "This script will get unexpected results because "this.getValue" returns a java Double object. Double objects can not support add operator, it will be converted to a String. If gvTotRetainage = 0.0, and this.getValue()= 3.0 then after executing, gvTotRetainage =0.03.0. The OutOfmemery is thrown when the ICU converts the unexpected sting to float, it is a bug of the ICU NumberFormat. We will file a bug for the ICU NumberFormat."
They suggested replacing "this.getValue" to row["..."], because row["..."] is a
native javascript object and supports all operators.
Hope this helps someone if they run into the same problem.
