Script for removing a column from a grouped table

Can anyone let me how to write a script for removing a column from a grouped table.

Also I want to know how can i set a variable in Java before calling task.run(), so that i can use that variable within a script for beforeFactory event.

What will determine the hiding of the column in the table? A user's parameter value? Also, can you explain more about the variable you're wanting to set? What are you wanting to use it for? Thanks.
