How to Force a New Page
nuraniuscc
Hi,
Upon a PAGEBREAK, Is there a way to force the next section of the report to go to the next page (To avoid printing across pages).
i.e., Do not split report across pages. Always start on a new page
Thanks

Hi Nurani,
You can select a report item and in the property editor, select a page break option of 'always' for before or after that item...or both. If this isn't what you're talking about, please explain more. Possibly with a screenshot of your problem. Thanks

Hi Mike,
While I understand what you say, It's not subjective. For Eg: AFTER A PAGEBREAK the next report, if it can fit in the same page, then do it, else,
move to the next page.
It seems like somekind of rowcount vs remaining lines available logic, which
should be available as a function in BIRT.
I can use "Always" which would achieve what I want, But if there is a way
to print on the same page without breaking up then it's good, isn't it?
Thanks

Nurani,
So, what you're wanting is functionality to only "page break" when the next report item or group won't fit on the current page entirely? Like an option of "No page break within", so that it would move to the next page if it won't fit completely? Is this correct?

Hi Mike,
Back with BIRT after a long gap. YES, That's exactly correct. How would I accomplish that?
Thanks

Currently, there's not a good way to accomplish that. That is definitely something you could request as an enhancement at <a class='bbc_url' href='

: Reporting Bugs and Requesting Enhancements</a>.

Is This issue fixed with new release that is BIRT2.3.2 version
CBR
I think the option you re searching is avoid pageBreak inside a element.
this functionality was part of birt 2.2, but was removed in birt 2.3 because it hasn't worked as excepted.
Is i can see avoid pageBreak will be reimplemented in BIRT 2.5 which will be released in june 09
