Closing Oracle Cursors

We are running a report that opens many cursors, and are running into the maximum open cursors exceeded Oracle error. I saw a post saying you can use a scripted data source to control the closing of cursors in BIRT. Does anyone have an example of the code that does this or another solution to the open cursor issue? We are using BIRT version 2.3.1.
