Report 9 :- How to Recreate the XML file?

Hi,

I copied an existing report and then started modifying it to meet the requirements. Ok, this helps in getting the report layout created within a short time. Now, the issue is, the XML file is still the old file.

I was under the impression that the XML file gets generated every time you edit and save the report layout.

Apparently that is not happening.

Question is, How do I get the new XML file without having to go through the code and delete stuff which doesn't belong to the new report?

Hi Nurani,

You can copy the rptdesign file and paste a new rptdesign file, and you can also paste the XML from an rptdesign file into the XML Source tab which will also create a new report. In either case, changes you make to the report design will be reflected in the XML Source tab.
