How to get data from parent window using birt report

hi all,

I have search report. I am showing that report in a new window(Internet explorer).I want to display search criteria in the birt report which is enter by user. Its a big string so i am thing to its not correct to pass as query string.
I am thinking to get that search criteria by using javascript parent element.

I want to know where i can put that java script in report ??
