Clarification to display the reports.

Im new to BIRT API.I need to get an input as the report definition file(manually I did the save as for the report definition file) thats also includes the mondrian cube and I need to parse the report(.report file).From that cube,I need to get the fields and display it in the form chart or reports.Pls get me some sample source java code using BIRT API in achieve the task. Pls help me out which method for parse the (.report file) and display it in dashboard in the portal.
