Displaying backslashes
dorr_duc
I was wondering if there is a way to to have backslashes displayed properly in a report. I want to be able to display a file path but the backslashes are replaced with a strikethrough "W". If I preview the results of my query in the Data Set editor it looks correct, but when I run the report the backslashes have been replaced. Is this a function of the browser or is it in BIRT? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi dorr_duc,
Just a few questions for now to get a better idea of the situation. You're seeing this in the designer, correct? What version of BIRT are you using? Does this happen for all outputs? Does the file path just come as a string from your database?

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the reply. I am working with BIRT ver. 2.3.1. The value coming from the database is a string. Whether I view the results in the preview tab or in a browser it still replaces the backslash with the strikethrough W. If I export the report to Excel the backslashes are displayed correctly. That's why I suspect its a browser setting.
Thanks for your help
